Synopsis:
Backrooms is a sci-fi horror movie based on the famous internet horror story. The film follows Clark, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, a furniture store owner who is struggling with his life and career. One day, while checking an electrical problem in his store’s basement, he accidentally passes through a wall and enters a strange world called the Backrooms. This place is an endless maze of empty yellow rooms and hallways with buzzing lights. As Clark searches for a way out, he becomes trapped in the terrifying maze. Meanwhile, his therapist Dr. Mary Kline, played by Renate Reinsve, enters the Backrooms to rescue him, unaware that dangerous creatures are hiding in the darkness and hunting them.
The movie is directed by Kane Parsons, also known as Kane Pixels, who became famous for his viral Backrooms videos on YouTube. The screenplay is written by Will Soodik, and the film is produced by A24 and Atomic Monster. The cast also includes Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Mark Duplass. With its creepy atmosphere, mysterious setting, and constant suspense, Backrooms turns a popular internet legend into a frightening big-screen horror experience.
