Synopsis:
Obsession is a horror thriller about love turning into something dangerous. The story follows Bear, played by Michael Johnston, a shy young man who works in a music store and secretly likes his coworker and childhood friend Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette. Too afraid to confess his feelings, Bear buys a strange item called the “One Wish Willow,” which is said to grant one wish when broken. In frustration, he wishes for Nikki to love him more than anyone else. At first, his wish seems perfect because Nikki suddenly becomes very caring and attached to him. But soon, her love turns obsessive and frightening, leading to violent and dangerous situations that spiral out of control.
The film is written and directed by Curry Barker, who became popular online for his comedy and horror videos. The movie is distributed by Focus Features. The cast also includes Cooper Tomlinson as Ian, Megan Lawless as Sarah, and Andy Richter as Carter. The film mixes romance and horror to show how uncontrolled emotions and selfish desires can become dangerous.
