Synopsis:
Landman is a gritty drama set in the modern oil boom towns of West Texas. The story follows Tommy Norris, a tough and cynical landman who works as a fixer for M-Tex Oil. His job is to handle everything from huge business deals to dangerous threats from criminals and rival groups. The series shows the sharp contrast between rich oil executives living in luxury and the rough workers on the oil rigs who risk their lives every day. Life in the oil fields is dangerous, unpredictable, and driven by money and power.
The story also focuses on Tommy’s family. His son Cooper drops out of college to work in the oil fields and barely survives a deadly rig explosion, changing the family forever. In Season 2, which ends on January 18, 2026, Tommy rises to become president of M-Tex Oil, but his success brings more danger, betrayal, and violence. The series is created and written by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, with Sheridan also serving as executive producer. The show stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, along with Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Jon Hamm, Sam Elliott, and Andy Garcia. With its mix of family drama, power struggles, and harsh realism, Landman stands out as a strong modern Western series.
